Midwest Surveys Celebrating 65 Years in Land Surveying

Calgary, Alberta, Thursday, February 13, 2014 – Midwest Surveys Inc., head office located in Calgary, AB is celebrating its 65th year providing land surveying services to the oil & gas industry in Western Canada.

Midwest Surveys has a rich history of providing land surveying services in Western Canada.

When J.J. Simpson started Simpson Elevation Co. Ltd. in 1949, his one “rodman” was all the help he needed to complete ground and elevation surveys of the wells being drilled in Alberta at the time. In the early 1950’s, service offerings expanded to include land surveying in response to changing regulatory requirements. As the oil industry expanded its geographical reach, partnerships were formed and Midwest experienced high growth between mid-1950 and 1999. Currently, Midwest has 10 offices servicing Estevan, Regina, Maple Creek, Lloydminster, Medicine Hat, Calgary, Edmonton, Peace River, Grande Prairie and Fort St. John.

Since 1949 Midwest has performed a large variety of geomatics services for the oil and gas industry and is looking forward to a strong presence moving forward. “There are very few companies that have a 65 year history in our industry.” said Kevin Swabey, President, Midwest Surveys Inc. “I am proud of our ability to adapt and implement new technologies seamlessly into our daily operations. Our team of dedicated professionals work diligently to find innovative, yet practical solutions to bring our clients true value.”

“We look to celebrate this milestone in 2014 with both our employees and clients, without them we would not be here today.  Our employees; honest and professional individuals dedicated to delivering “service beyond boundaries” every day. To our clients; your loyal support over these past years is greatly appreciated. We look forward to working with you for another 65 years!”
