Midwest is announcing the acquisition of Webb to create a combined entity with extensive surveying expertise. For seven decades, Midwest has provided oil and gas surveying in Western Canada, with the addition of municipal, pipeline construction and integrity services in the last 12 years or so. In its 36-year history, Webb has concentrated upon municipal surveying and land development in the Saskatoon area; it has positioned itself as a leader in that field.
“We’re excited about this growth opportunity for our companies. Webb possesses extensive experience that will complement our municipal surveying operation, which is presently concentrated in our Regina branch.” said Kevin Swabey, Midwest’s President. Tom Webb, Webb’s President, echoed this excitement about the future. “We felt Midwest would be a good fit for us. We share similar values including a strong employee commitment and client service orientation. We see great things for the Saskatoon office moving forward.”
While the united entity will continue operations under the Midwest name, it intends to leverage the Webb Surveys brand at least in the interim. “There is no doubt that Webb is well respected in the Saskatoon area, so we expect to use the Webb Surveys name for some time,” said Scott Boulanger, Midwest’s COO. He adds, “I’m excited to meet all of the employees and to work with Tom, who will manage the office during the transition.” Operations will continue out of Webb’s existing location on Jessop Avenue.
